Significant Sigs

The Sigma Chi Fraternity has recognized more than 1,500 brothers with the Significant Sig Award since its inception at the 1935 Grand Chapter. Alumni in any profession, occupation or service work are eligible for consideration.

Mike and Joe Cavender

Cavender's is a family-owned and operated western wear retail chain based in Tyler, Texas with more than 70 stores. Joe Cavender serves as president of the Company while operations and leasing are headed by Mike Cavender. Cavender's celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2015.

Edward Stanley is the Founder, Chairman and Owner of Stanco Safety Products. The Comapny manufactures Premium Flame Resistant Protective Clothing and Safety Accessories with International Distribution. Stanley is a Charter Member of Zeta Eta Chapter.

Richard Bills

CEO / Owner of Wilson Company a motion & control Distributor and Manufacturer. Richard "Howdy" Bills is Life Loyal Sig. He has received two Grand Counsel Citations, is a member of the White Cross Trust, contributor to Zeta Eta Housing Corporation and was selected as a Significant Sig. He was honored and proud to serve the Chapter as Consul, Pro Consul and Questor.

Ron Hall is an international art dealer whose long list of regular clients includes many celebrity personalities. He is the writer and producer of the Paramount Pictures film, Same Kind of Different As Me.

Joe Griffith

Elias Hage

Griffith was a humorist, movie actor, commercial pilot, real estate developer, stockbroker, author of three books, and was a co-host to America's first-ever television stock market program. At the age of 40, he was known as the most successful after-dinner speaker and was the youngest member inducted into the National Speakers Hall of Fame.

Canadian of Lebanese origin, Elias Hage was recruited to play football with the Lions in 1996. He graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University Commerce and thereafter obtained a Masters in Maritime Management from the Maine Maritime Academy.
